Jenna Fischer was best known for her portrayal of Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on television. Her role on The Office earned her an Emmy nomination in the Most Outstanding Supporting Actress category. She also won two SAG Awards, both for outstanding performances by the cast of a comedy.
Her mother, Anne was a performer in church theater when she was young that instilled a love for theater and performances in Jenna. Jenna watched her mom, Anne, perform in church plays when she was a child that instilled a passion of theater and performance.
An actress trained in theater, Fischer returned to her home base after finishing The Office. She starred as Josh Hamilton in Neil LaBute's Off-Broadway drama Reasons to Be Happy. In the following play, she was in Steve Martin's newest production Meteor Shower. It was a comedy that was absurd, starring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg and ran for record breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
Angela Kinsey from The Office (the cast mate of Fischer) and her real life best friend, Angela Kinsey from The Office, started a podcast in the month of October. It was titled Office Ladies. The show is now extremely well-known and has landed in the Top Ten every single week. The first year, it received more than 200,000,000 downloads. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year award in January 2021.
She is the writer of two books. The Actor's Life and a Survival Guide, in which she describes her journey through St. Louis to Hollywood in order to be a professional actor. She is also the author of Office BFF's: Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends Who Were There (co-authored with Angela Kinsey) This book provides a memoir of their best relationship and their time on The Office.
