Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th of November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to be awarded a perfect score of 10 during an Olympic competition. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics coach when she was only six years old. She competed in the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. In 1970, she won the title. At her first international competition in 1972, she took the top spot by winning three gold awards. At her first competition as a senior in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion winning four gold medals as well as one silver. She was the first female ever to successfully perform the backwards double salto when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager, Carol Wayne began working in the entertainment business by performing in the form of a figure skater. Together with her brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her career in the entertainment business as a teenager. She began her professional career by performing figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister, in the traveling entertainment programs Ice Capades. The show featured stage-moving ice-skating shows.
